La Vie Dansante Wines

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What kind of wines do you offer?

— We specialize in Rhone-style wines using locally grown Grenache, Syrah, Mourèdre, Carignan, Roussanne, Viognier, Grenache blanc, and others. We also offer a “second label” where we feature “California favorites” such as Chardonnay, Cabernet, and Zinfandel.

How do your tastings work, and what do they cost?

— We offer you a list of 10 wines from which to choose you 5 favorites. There is a $15, non-refundable, tasting fee that covers approximately a glass and a half of wine.

Do I need reservations?

— No reservations are necessary, however we appreciate a heads-up for groups of eight or more.

What kind of seating areas do you have?

— We offer indoor tasting with heat/airconditioning for when the weather isn’t cooperating as well as several choices of outdoor seating. We have a quaint “french courtyard” full of herbs, flowers, and a water feature and a “tropical lanai” where you’ll find hibiscus, ginger, pikake, and lilikoi.

Do you offer food?

— We have two deli cases with various meat, cheese, and cracker choices as well as soft drinks and fruit juice for our younger guests. As a small winery we don’t have the resources for a full kitchen but you’ll be able to find a hearty snack in the deli cases.

Can I bring outside food and drinks?

— Outside food is welcome; feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy. Outside drinks are fine, but no outside alcohol. The California ABC controls our license and we cannot allow consumption of alcohol on our grounds that we did not ourselves produce and that you did not purchase during your current visit. This is a no tolerance item since our livelihood is tied to our license.

Do you have a winery dog?

— Noelani, “Noe”, is our winery dog and most important brand ambassador. She was a stray when she wandered into our tasting room in January of 2017. We think she was about four months old at the time. She’s incredibly chill and love kids and other dogs. She has the run of the place so feel free to hold the door for her, and yes… you can feed her tidbits. (Just let Jeff know so that he can monitor her food).

Are you dog and child friendly?

— We like to say that we are “child-tolerant, and dog-friendly”. That means that both well-behaved dogs and children are welcome but that you must be responsible for watching over them and their interactions with other guests.

How do you monitor excessive alcohol consumption?

— A person or persons who appear to show signs of intoxication while on our premises will be refused additional service. Guests who arrive at La Vie Dansante Wines who appear to be intoxicated will be refused service.  We are a zero tolerance facility for alcohol abuse and its effects on our guests staff members.

Are you handicapped accessible?

— Yes, we are ADA compliant throughout our facility. If you find an issue please let us know so we can assist you to fully enjoy your visit.

Can I smoke at your winery?

— We follow all California regulations regarding smoking in public establishments and therefore do not allow smoking of any substance in common areas. You are welcome to smoke in the parking lot.
